Knife attack kills 2 at Beijing Railway Station

A man and a woman were killed in a ticket office in Beijing Railway Station early yesterday. They were pronounced dead after an ambulance arrived, Beijing Times reported today.

A passenger waiting in the same line the No. 2 ticket office told reporters that the two victims were standing a few people behind him and they apparently knew each other.

"I didn't notice what they were talking about. Suddenly I heard people screaming and I turned around and saw they were both lying on the ground and a man rushed out," said the passenger surnamed Zhao.

Zhao said the two victims were in their 20s. The man had knife wounds in his neck and chest while the woman was slit in the throat. The time was about 4am.

Three police vehicles arrived and a dozen police officers cordoned off the ticket office to search for evidences. The two bodies were later carried away for forensic examination.

The killer suspect has been caught but Beijing police gave no details. The identities of the victims were not disclosed either.
