Knifeman leaps to death
A SHOPPING mall employee in Wuhan City, capital of central China’s Hubei Province, injured four people in a knife attack and then leapt to his death yesterday, leaving a fifth person injured by the jump, local police said.
The suspect, surnamed Hu, took a staff-only elevator and entered the fifth floor of the shopping mall before it opened, police said.
The knife-wielding man injured four mall employees and then jumped to his death, injuring a fifth person on the ground, police said.
The five injured were sent to hospital. None suffered life-threatening injuries, said officials.
An initial police investigation showed that Hu was engaged in a leasing dispute with the shopping mall’s operator on Thursday.
Further investigations are under way.
