Knife-wielding man detained after killing one, injuring several in Beijing

Police shot injured a man who assaulted people on street in Chaoyang District in downtown Beijing Tuesday morning, killing one and injuring several others.
Police said they fired at the man after he resisted arrest. His injury is not critical. The suspect and injured victims have been sent to hospital.
The suspect has been identified as a man surnamed Song, 29, from northeast China's Heilongjiang Province.
The motive of his assault with a kitchen knife is still under investigation.
