Landslide cuts off Ningbo-Wenzhou highway

A massive landslide caused by Typhoon Haikui blocked a section of a highway in Fenghua, Zhejiang Province early this morning and authorities have cordoned off the disaster area.

Debris from the landslide buried the road about two kilometers from a rest area on the highway that links the cities of Ningbo, Taizhou and Wenzhou, local police said.

Vehicles lined up two kilometers before being evacuated by traffic police, China News Service reported.

Three forklifts have been dispatched to the scene to aid repair operations.
