THREE people were killed and about 10 were missing yesterday after a landslide resulting from heavy rain buried workshops and dormitories at a brick factory in Xi'an, capital of Shaanxi Province.
More than 700 rescuers were searching for the missing people at the factory, which is about 300 meters from a mountain.
Persistent rains have killed nine people and forced 47,200 to evacuate their homes in Shaanxi during the past two weeks, authorities said yesterday. More than 5,000 homes have collapsed since September 4.
