Landslide kills train drivers
Two drivers were killed when a landslide derailed a freight train in Ankang City, northwest China’s Shaanxi Province yesterday afternoon, local authorities said. Eight carriages came off the track at around 3pm, after an earlier landslide had left debris there, according to the railway bureau of provincial capital Xi’an City. The incident occurred on the Xunyang-Zongxi section of the railway, which runs from central China’s Hubei Province to southwest China’s Chongqing Municipality. The accident did not affect passenger train services, the bureau said.
