Police in Qingdao of coastal Shandong Province have detained several mobsters who committed beating, smashing, looting and burning during demonstrations against Japanese government's purchase of the Diaoyu Islands.
Police began to search for lawbreakers for taking part in rioting during protests over the weekend. Several suspects have been seized, Qingdao police said today on its official microblog.
Police urged local residents to abide by the law.
