Lessons To Be Learned From Japan Crisis
CHINA must increase oversight of its nuclear power plants after Japan's disaster, Deputy Environment Minister Li Ganjie said, as the country advances an ambitious program to build more reactors.
LI said the crisis had laid bare a "host of problems" over how nuclear power is handled in China and elsewhere.
There was a need to raise industry safety standards, make information more accessible and put in place a strong team of independent regulators, he said.
