Li Keqiang nominated by Xi Jinping as candidate for premier
LI Keqiang was nominated Friday by newly-elected Chinese President Xi Jinping as the candidate for premier at the ongoing parliament session.
Nearly 3,000 deputies to the 12th National People's Congress will vote to decide the country's new premier at a plenary meeting.
Candidates for vice chairpersons and members of the Central Military Commission, also nominated by Xi, and for the president of the Supreme People's Court and the procurator-general, proposed by the Party's Central Committee, will also be voted on.
