Li calls for more aid
PREMIER Li Keqiang on Tuesday called for more humanitarian aid to help fight Ebola as China continued its commitment to preventing the spread of the virus in West Africa.
The global community must strengthen coordination to combat the disease, Li said in a phone call to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon.
The epidemic in West Africa has jeopardized the lives of people in the affected countries, hindered those nations’ economic development and social stability, and posed a pressing threat to global public health.
The priority is to provide more supplies, funds and medical workers, guide the public to deal with the epidemic in the right way, and consolidate confidence in winning the battle, Li said.
