Life sentence for rapist who kept sex diaries
A FORMER security guard has been sentenced to life in prison for raping three under-age girls and a mentally challenged woman in Hefei, capital of east China’s Anhui Province.
Liu Qiang, 39, kept diaries telling how he lured hundreds of women to have sex with him over the past 15 years, Hefei prosecutors said.
Liu wrote entries after having sex with each woman, describing their characteristics and his feelings. It was not clear whether any of the sexual encounters, aside from the four detailed in the charges, involved force.
He met women via QQ, an online instant message service, using fake personal information and usually took them to his home, according to a report in a local newspaper.
He had sex with the three girls between 2009 and 2010. In a diary entry for November 18, 2009, he said “No. 59” was a virgin. He wrote that they had sex at the girl’s house though he knew the girl was only 12 years old.
One diary entry read: “raping minors feels extraordinarily pleasant.”
Liu also met a mentally challenged woman surnamed Yu via an online chatroom in 2010 and had sex with her more than 50 times, according to the newspaper.
Police arrested Liu after one of his victims and her parents contacted the police in January last year.
The court heard that Liu had worked as a security guard at a company in Hefei.
Under Chinese law, sex with girls under the age of 14 or women who are mentally challenged is rape.
