Light smog expected in N China region

THE National Meteorological Center forecast light to moderate smog in the southern regions of north China beginning on Friday night and lasting until Monday.
Meteorological conditions during that period are not favorable for the dissipation of airborne pollutants. However, starting on Tuesday, the smog will disappear due to new cold fronts, they said.
The center also forecast that cold fronts may cause temperature to by between 4 and 6 degrees in northeast China and the eastern part of north China on Thursday.
Meanwhile, southwest China will see torrential rains on Friday, it forecast.
