Liquids banned from the post
CHINA Post will ban liquids from its express mail service (EMS) to ensure security before the 60th aniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
EMS in Beijing will refuse to collect anything that is in liquid, gel or cream form since today. Perfume, Shampoo, even toothpastes are on the list of restricted items, according to the Beijing-based Legal Mirror today.
The new rules would also require all packages to be inspected by China Post staff before being sent.
An official with the EMS suggested that customers to consult its hotline 11185 before going to a China Post branch to avoid problems.
The ban will be lifted after the National Day holiday.
