Love prevails despite chubby ploy

A YOUNG man in southwestern China has devoted himself to cooking but his girlfriend discovered it was a ruse to hold her heart - and increase her girth.
Zhao Xiaodong, from Chongqing, said he felt insecure about his beautiful girlfriend even though they had been together for more than five years since college.
Zhao decided to make her fat with delicious food as he thought other men would have less interest in a chubby girl, the Chongqing Evening News reported yesterday.
He cooked Italian and French food for her and his plan nearly worked as Zhou Qin put on 4 kilograms in about six months.
Zhao's trick came to light early this month when Zhou decided to lose her weight by taking a slimming class but he stopped her.
"I was suspicious until he told me the truth," the newspaper quoted her as saying.
The problem was solved as Zhao told Zhou that their love should be based on trust.
There's one condition: Zhao has to cook three meals a day for the rest of their lives.
