Mainlanders hurt in Taiwan rock fall
TWO mainland tourists were seriously injured by falling rocks in a national park in Taiwan yesterday afternoon.
Shi Jinhong was hit by rocks in the head and nose while visiting a cave in the Taroko National Park in Hualien County.
She had surgery to stop bleeding in her brain but was still in a critical condition in the Buddhist Tzu Chi General Hospital in Hualien, the China News Service reported.
The other tourist, Su Yuying, was struck in the face and was being kept in intensive care at the same hospital for observation.
The two were part of a 14-member group from Putian, Fujian Province. The tourist group arrived in Taiwan on Saturday and were due to return home tomorrow.
