Man Held For Threatening Judges
POLICE in Chongqing City yesterday announced that they have detained a man for having threatened to hurt judges in Wen Qiang's case if Wen's death sentence were upheld.
Zhou Tao, a 37-year-old Chongqing local, was seized by police when using a public telephone.
Chongqing Higher People's Court received an anonymous threatening phone call on May 14. The threats were recorded at 2pm and apparently came from a public telephone, a news report said.
Zhou allegedly made violent threats to court officials saying he would definitely harm every judge on Wen's case if they threw out Wen's appeal yesterday.
