Man accused of killing 2
A POSSIBLE drug user who slashed two infants to death and attacked three adults on Tuesday in Zhongshan City in Guangdong Province has been detained, a newspaper report said.
The suspect surnamed Huang went to the home of his friend, surnamed Yang, and hacked his one-year-old daughter to death and severely injured his 89-year-old grandmother, Southern Metropolis Daily reported yesterday.
Huang, 35, then found Yang and attacked his friend, who sustained head and arm injuries, but passersby intervened to save him, the report said.
Huang then ran off and entered another villager's home, where he killed a two-month-old baby and injured the baby's grandmother, in her 50s, the paper reported.
A neighbor was cited as saying Huang had told police Yang had threatened to kill him.
However, Huang's friend told the newspaper he may have been delusional after taking drugs, but others confirmed Yang had threatened to kill Huang during a quarrel.
Yang, however, denied having a grudge against Huang. Yang told the newspaper he always lent money to Huang.
Police are investigating the case, the report said.
