Man arrested after threatening to blow up police officers
A MAN who smashed a cab in south China's Shenzhen City and threatened to blow police officers up with explosives has been arrested.
The suspect surnamed Feng refused to pay the driver surnamed Chen after arriving at his destination in Luohu District on May 28, and they had a fierce quarrel.
The outraged driver then drove Feng to the local police station, however, Feng suddenly jumped from the cab and started smashing its windows with stones, Shenzhen Evening News reported today.
When Feng was finally cornered by police, he took out two tube-shaped objects filled with explosives, and threatened to set them off if the police did not let up on their chase.
Outnumbered – and facing down the barrels of various police pistols – Feng finally relented and was placed under arrest, the paper said.
Feng's tube-objects were confirmed to contain gun powder that could have been triggered by fire or strong impact.
