Man arrested for robbing, raping elderly women

THE man who robbed and raped more than 10 elderly women in rural villages in eastern Shandong Province in 2010 has been captured.
The 53-year-old suspect, surnamed Fang, preyed on women over 70 years old and living alone to avoid strong resistance, police in Yishui and Yinan counties said.
He would first rob the victims of valuables and then rape them. The oldest victim was 99 years old, according to today's Legal Daily.
A 90-year-old man was kicked in the belly after she begged Fang to leave some of his savings. He died two weeks later of scare and injury, the paper said.
Fang was divorced because his wife could not endure his violence, gambling and other vices. Afterwards, he became a loafer and made a living by stealing and robbery, often bringing his daughter as an assistant.
His grown-up daughter was also arrested for assisting his criminal activities, the paper said.
