A MAN has collected 5,000 bras from female college students across China in the past two decades to promote wearing them properly to prevent breast cancer.

Chen Zuqing, 56, from Sanya City, Hainan Province, told South China Metropolitan Post when he was a hospital intern that he saw many women suffering from breast cancer, which made him eager to remind them of how to wear bras properly.

Now the owner of an advertisement company in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, Chen said his collection is from students at 30 colleges across the country.

He told the newspaper it was difficult to persuade women to donate their bras at first, but nowadays, more students are willing when they learn of his purpose.

He also said he planned to open a museum when his collection reaches 10,000.
