Man commits suicide after stabbing three girls

A MAN committed suicide by jumping off a dormitory roof after stabbing his girlfriend and her two roommates, seriously injuring them in central China yesterday, a Wuhan-based newspaper reported today.
The 22-year-old man surnamed Shi had a dispute with his girlfriend surnamed Yang, a sophomore at Hubei Normal University in Huangshi City of central Hubei Province, when he accompanied her to college for the new semester, according to Sanxia Evening News.
When Shi called in the morning to see Yang in her dormitory, she refused to open the door. But her roommate Li opened the door, only to be stabbed by Shi wielding a kitchen knife. The girls' screams as they were attacked drew fellow students to help, the report said.
Shi ran out of the dormitory and up to the seventh floor, where he watched ambulances take away the three injured girls and police cars arriving. The man, a migrant worker from Hubei Province, jumped and died at the scene, a witness said.
A report said that a friend alleged that Shi was hot-tempered and had beaten Yang. Police are still investigating.
