A man died after he was run over by two different vehicles in Guangdong Province and nearby police and medical professionals neglected to help, Nanguo Metropolis Daily reported today.
Li Zhizhong was hit and run over by a sports car in front of a police station in Hai'an Town on Saturday night. A policeman was called to the scene but he left Li lying on the road to chase the suspect, it said. A short while later an SUV ran over Li, the report said.
The town's clinic is just 20 meters from the police station, but no medical personnel came to help immediately, the paper reported.
Doctor Wang Daidong was cited as saying Li had been badly hurt and didn't have a pulse when he rushed to the scene. Li was later taken to a hospital in Xuwen County, Wang told the newspaper.
A witness surnamed Lin told the newspaper that several onlookers decided not to intervene because they didn't know Li.
