Man downs 90 pills after father-in-law pressures him to buy apartment

A 27-YEAR-OLD man in Hefei, capital of east China’s Anhui Province, was given emergency treatment after gulping 90 pills easing high blood pressure on Tuesday evening after he said his father-in-law pressured him to buy an apartment in the city.

He survived the ordeal and is in stable condition after treatment at a hospital.

The man, surnamed Tang, who works at a medical appliance company, had quarreled bitterly with his wife and father-in-law over purchasing an apartment in Hefei.

He gulped 90 hypotensive pills after he argued with his father-in-law on the phone on Tuesday evening. He began vomiting at 9pm while driving his car near a bank in downtown Hefei.

He called his brother to say his final farewells and his brother dialed 120 for medical help and also called the police. Rescuers found him and rushed him to the hospital for emergency treatment.
