Man faints after performing circumcision at home

A 33-year-old man who used a razor to shorten the foreskin of his penis as his wife griped about their poor sex life passed out at the sight of his blood.
The man surnamed Qi, a truck driver in Dongguan, Guangdong Province, was brought to hospital by his 30-year-old wife in the middle of the night. His pants were drenched in blood, the local Dongguan Times reported today.
Doctors treated Qi's wound and warned people not to circumcise prepuce themselves at home as they may risk infection and even death.
The paper said the couple used to quarrel over their unhappy sex life because Qi had long, bacteria-infested foreskin that gave her vaginal infections. But Qi was too shy to see the doctors.
"Then I saw an ad that claimed it is easy to cut the foreskin and the wound takes only two days to heal," Qi said.
So, one night recently, after his wife was sound asleep, Qi used a razor blade to remove the foreskin himself. But he cut it too deep and his penis began to bleed. Qi called out to his wife for help and then fainted.
The doctor advised other men who want to cut their foreskin to go to a regular hospital for the surgery, which costs about 1,000 yuan.
