Man flees with police gun after resisting arrest in SW China

POLICE in Dazhou City, southwest China’s Sichuan Province, are hunting for a suspect who was believed to have fled with a pistol after resisting a police arrest yesterday night, Sichuan Daily reported today.

It occurred at around 9pm when two police officers were trying to capture Feng Huashuai, 34, on suspicion of provoking troubles.

But Feng and his alleged accomplice Zhu Silian, 34, beat police officers and seized a pistol from them, Dazhou police said.

Feng has been detained but Zhu is still at large, with the pistol, the newspaper reported.
