Man gets death for setting bus on fire, killing 2
A man was sentenced to death today for setting fire to an airport shuttle bus in Changsha, Jiangxi Province, last month, killing two people and injuring 14.
The Changsha Intermediate People's Court handed down the death sentence to Shen Haitao for the deadly blaze on July 21.
The court said Shen, 35, held grudges against the society because he lost money in business.
"The case was shocking and justice comes quick," said Luo Hengning, head of the Changsha court.
The Yiyang City native Shen arrived at Changsha's Huanghua International airport with a bottle of gasoline, which he hid in a laptop bag.
Shen hopped on a shuttle bus for downtown with the bag. The bus was full of people when Shen pieced the plastic bottle with a knife, wait till the bag was soaked up in gas, and lit it up when the bus was on an expressway.
