Man given death for keeping 6 sex slaves in dungeon and murdering 2
A man who kept six women as sex slaves in a dungeon for two years and killed two of them in a city in Henan Province was sentenced to death this morning, Xinhua reported.
Li Hao, 35, used to work at the Luoyang City fire department before becoming an official at the city's Quality and Technical Supervision Bureau.
He dug two cells in the basement of his apartment building in 2009 and seduced and locked up six KTV bar girls there for periods of up to 21 months.
He regularly raped them and forced them to perform porn shows. Occasionally, he loaned them out as prostitutes, the Luoyang Intermediate People's Court said.
Two women who fought back were tortured and eventually killed. Their bodies were only found in the cells in September last year, when police raided the dungeon after receiving a tip-off from the relatives of a captive who managed to escape.
Three of the rescued victims also received jail terms of up to three years for assisting Li to murder two other women. Li's sister was also sentenced to prison with a reprieve for sheltering him during the manhunt, Xinhua said.
