Man held over child rape charge

A MAN in central Hubei Province has been detained for allegedly raping a four-year-old girl in a court office, the Wuhan-based Chutian Metropolis Daily reported today.
The girl was weeping when she returned home at 5pm on May 20. Her grandparents were told she had been raped by Wang Changping in an office at the court of Zhangzhuangpu Town in Jingzhou City.
The grandparents told the police and called Wang but nobody answered. They received a short message from Wang later apologizing.
Police found Wang in a private hotel early next morning and took him into custody. Wang was divorced from his wife years ago and had a boy. The 40-or-so-year-old was a temporary worker, not a government official, at the court, according to an official from Gong'an County Court.
The girl lived at the local town government compound and her parents served as migrant workers elsewhere.
The girl and her family have moved to Beijing temporarily.
