Man kept woman, 18, as sex slave in cellar, police say
A MIGRANT worker has been arrested on charges of keeping an 18-year-old woman as a sex slave for 11 days in a cellar he built underneath a rented home in Jiaxing, a city in Zhejiang Province, Qianjiang Evening News reported today.
Chen Xiaolong, 36, of Henan Province, confessed he had raped the victim repeatedly in the space under his home after threatening to kill her or post nude photos of her online, police said.
Police said he told them he was inspired by violent plots in online novels.
Chen pretended to operate an electric tricycle as a transport and convinced the woman to hop on board outside a KTV karaoke establishment on the night of June 12, the report said.
Chen took her to a secluded place and threatened her with a knife and electric baton, police said. She was tied up, had her lips sealed and was taken to Chen’s rental house.
Once in the cellar, of around 4.5 cubic meters, the woman’s clothes were stripped off and she was chained up. During 11 days, she was only allowed to leave the cellar only twice to be bathed, the newspaper reported.
The woman worked at the chain for days with a nail clipper and finally was able to break free. She cried for help through a small opening as soon as she could move freely, and neighbors heard her and called police. Police rescued her and caught Chen the same day.
