Man killed in Nanjing rampage

A BUS driver, incensed at his boss, ran over a young moped driver, and dragged the man for 5 kilometers on Monday through Nanjing City in Jiangsu Province.

The driver, Wang Jianqiang, 50, was eventually stopped when taxis and cars blocked his path, yesterday's Nanjing-based Modern Express reported.

After he stopped the bus, Wang got out and walked to a roadside security office, telling the officers he had killed a person and asking them to handcuff him.

The victim's body had been crushed and decapitated.

Wang had taken the No. 114 bus without permission and there were no passengers aboard.

Wang, who had been driving buses for the city's Zhongbei bus company for 10 years, allegedly told police he was in a blind rage and intended to kill someone.

He said his boss had put pressure on him and that he did not want to live. A passenger had complained a few days before that he had been hurt when Wang closed the doors on him.

His boss had reprimanded him and threatened him with further discipline, Wang said.
