Man killed over demolition dispute
ONE person was killed following a dispute over a house demolition on Saturday morning in Suqian City, Jiangsu Province.
Eight staff from the Chulong House Demolition Company, accompanied by three property-management staff, went to an apartment to negotiate the occupant's removal, according to a Suyu District press release.
The demolition company said the whole area was to be demolished and it is in the process of clearing the area.
The apartment was owned by a sister of one of the suspects, Wang Chunyong, and Wang's sister refused to leave the apartment.
Three people suddenly rushed out of the apartment and used knifes to hack the demolition company staff, said the statement.
One staff member surnamed Yuan died at the site, and a further six staff were injured, one seriously. All the injured were sent to hospital.
Police seized two of the suspects.
