Man kills his bride for discovering affairs

A bank official was found guilty of killing his newly-wed wife after she realized his love affairs with other women and lying that she was murdered by a burglar, the Beijing No. 2 People's Court said.
Niu Xuehui, 34, a customer service section chief of an unidentified bank, and his wife, a 31-year-old civil servant surnamed Li, were married in March this year.
While on a honeymoon tour in Qingdao, Shandong Province, Li accidentally found romantic messages in her husband's mobile phone, today's Beijing Morning Post reported.
After returning home, the couple had a fierce quarrel. When Li fell asleep, Niu struck her head with a wooden vase and strangled her neck to death. Afterwards, he destroyed his criminal evidences and created the scene of a burglary, the paper said.
Niu stayed calm and went to work the next morning. He called police after leaving his office, claiming a burglar broke into his house and killed his wife.
Initial findings indicate that only Niu and Li had entered the room and there were no stranger's footprints. Niu eventually admitted to his crime, the paper said.
Prosecutors said Niu should be severely punished for intentional homicide. Li's family also asked for death penalty for him. The court has made a verdict, the paper said.
