Man rapes nine with wife's help

A MAN has been jailed for life for raping nine women with the help of his wife, who was jailed for 15 1/2 years in south China's Guangdong Province.

Foshan City Intermediate People's Court sentenced Zhang Linqun, 50, and his wife Jin Ling, 28, today's Guangzhou Daily reported.

Zhang, a jobless Beijing native, told Jin that he needed to have sex with young women to maintain his health. Jin, a Zhejiang Province native, believed him and decided to help.

They drilled holes in the bathroom door at their villa in Foshan to take pictures of women in the shower and use pictures to blackmail them into submission, the report said.

The first victim was Jin's friend, a 23-year-old Guangdong native surnamed Dong. Jin told her that she could cure her period pains by having sex with Zhang, a so-called "cure-all doctor."

After being raped, Dong preyed on another friend, a 25-year-old Guangxi native surnamed Li. She showed Li a medical report with a fake hospital seal to convince Li that she had a liver disease, an illness that could be treated by Zhang. Zhang raped Li.

Dong and Li lured seven other women - including their own sisters - to have sex with Zhang on 30 occasions in the following year.

Dong was paid 500,000 yuan (US$73,730) by Zhang for her help while Li said Zhang had also promised to give her 300,000 yuan for finding each woman.

They said they liked the life in the luxury villa and willingly agreed to help Zhang.

Their plot was not revealed until a woman raped at the villa on March 16 last year called police.
