Man sets himself ablaze in front of Shenzhen police bureau
A MIDDLE-AGED man set fire on himself yesterday afternoon in front of Shenzhen Public Security Bureau, Shenzhen police said.
The man in his 40s, whose identify still unknown, is being treated at Shenzhen No. 2 People's Hospital and still in critical condition, his doctor told today's Guangzhou Daily.
He has burns over 90 percent of his body, the doctor said.
The incident occurred around 14:50 in front of the bureau gate on Jiefang Road in Shenzhen's Luohu District. A security guard at a nearby building noticed it and rushed to distinguish the fire. Police and ambulance arrived immediately.
Police are still investigating the man's motive for the fire.
