Man spends 250,000 yuan on 鈥楾ransformers 4鈥 tickets to show up ex-girlfriend

A man has spent 250,000 yuan (US$40,650) to book two IMAX cinemas in Beijing for screenings of “Transformers 4” this Friday to prove his former girlfriend made the wrong choice in leaving him, Beijing Youth Daily reported.
Some people questioned whether it was true. A post on the man’s weibo microblog has been retweeted nearly 90,000 times as of yesterday, the report said.
A Shanghai ticket agent confirmed the man, surnamed Wang, who is based in Nanjing and Shanghai, booked the tickets. Wang also posted pictures of the invoices and agreements he signed with the cinemas, the report said.
Wang told the newspaper his girlfriend dumped him seven years ago because he could not afford two movie tickets and now he was using half of his monthly income to book all the seats in two IMAX theaters.
Individuals who repost the information have a chance to win free tickets, according to Wang, who added he hopes his former girlfriend will find out what he is doing and regret her decision to leave him.
“Is it really worth working so hard to show off to your ex-girlfriend, who may not even find out about it?” one person posted on Wang’s microblog.
