Man thwarted in his attempt to stab his wife in court
A man of central Henan Province tried to stab his wife yesterday as they were in court for divorce. He was subdued by court police before he got to his wife, Dahe Daily reported today.
The man surnamed Wang came to the Intermediate People's Court of Xinxiang City at about 9am yesterday with a court summon in his hand. But when the court police tried to do the regular security check, Wang claimed he was already late and managed to avoid the check. The court police felt suspicious and followed him into the court.
After entering the court, Wang broke out into a rant and ran toward his wife who was already in the court. The court police immediately grabbed him by the wrist and brought him down to the ground. The officers found two knives in his clothes.
The newspaper said Wang's wife applied for the divorce because she suffered domestic violence. Wang used to stab his wife with a knife and he is now held in police custody.
