Man who killed his family declared insane
A MAN who stabbed six of his relatives to death last month in Yunnan Province will not be charged with any crime on the grounds of insanity.
Instead, Chen Wenfa, 21, who killed his parents, uncle and aunt, his brother and his grandmother on November 16 in Wumeng Village in Kunming City, will be sent to a mental institution, China Central Television reported yesterday.
Chen fled after killing his six family members and plucking their eyes out. He was said to be extremely violent and dangerous.
Two weeks later he was found hiding in a toilet in Kunming. Three toilet cleaners found him lying under a bed which they used. They cornered him and called the police.
Chen was in an extremely weak state and was said to have survived by eating grass.
