Maritime exercises mark 65 years of China’s navy
MARITIME exercises are being conducted off the coast at Qingdao to mark the 65th founding anniversary of the PLA Navy.
The exercises, which began yesterday and continue today, were originally scheduled for today and tomorrow.
Seven ships from Bangladesh, Pakistan, Singapore, Indonesia, India, Malaysia and Brunei are taking part the exercises, which are not part of the Western Pacific Naval Symposium.
China sent warships, supply ships, a hospital ship, helicopters and marines to take part in the exercises, which feature joint maritime search and rescue operations.
