Medical experts at the scene
THIRTY medical experts have been sent to the quake zone.
They are tasked with helping local health departments treat the wounded, prevent possible epidemics and provide mental health assistance, according to the National Health and Family Planning Commission.
Ninety-five provincial medical workers were sent to quake-hit areas yesterday morning and health and epidemic prevention teams from nearby counties have been mobilized to provide medical assistance, according to commission.
Hospitals in both counties have received a total of 572 quake victims, including 70 people said to be in a serious condition.
