Mentally-ill woman kills her 2 boys by strangling
TWO boys in central Hunan Province, aged 4 and 6, were strangled to death by their mother last Friday only because the big boy was too naughtily and she didn't want the younger one to feel lonely without his brother.
Police said the first grader in a school in Jianghua County came home in the afternoon and began to search for food. His mother, surnamed Li, tried to stop him but failed. In a rage, she strangled the boy to death, local media reported yesterday.
Thinking that her second son, just four years old, would feel lonely without his elder brother, Li killed him as well, Jianghua police said.
Seeing they were dead, Li tried to commit suicide by cutting her neck and wrists with a knife. She is in stable condition after emergency treatment.
Reports said Li had a bad marriage and left her husband surnamed Zhou in 2009. Early last month Zhou received a phone call from his mother-in-law, saying his wife had returned to her own home in Guizhou Province and seemed to have mental problems.
Zhou went to Guizhou and brought Li back to their home in Jianghua on April 8. Four days later the tragedy happened. Police are now investigating the case.
