Mercury Falling in Central, East China

A strong cold front will hit central and eastern China over the next two days, bringing temperature drops and strong winds, meteorological authorities said yesterday.

Temperatures will fall 6 to 10 degrees Celsius in Shaanxi Province, Guizhou Province, eastern parts of Yunnan Province, Chongqing City and areas along the Yangtze River, the China Meteorological Administration said in a statement on its website.

Temperatures may fall 16 degrees in southeast areas of north China and near the Yangtze and Huaihe rivers.
