A vacant subway train derailed during a test run this morning in Kunming, capital of Yunnan Province, killing one driver and injuring another in the cockpit, Xinhua News Agency reported.
Several carriages derailed suddenly on the city's first Metro line, about 500 meters from the closest station. An overhead heater fell and hit the two drivers, causing one dead and the other slightly injured, city officials said.
An investigation team has been formed to probe into cause of the accident and the result will be made public, the officials said.
