Metro work cuts water
ABOUT 100,000 residents of Zhengzhou, the capital of central China's Henan Province, have been left without water for two days after the city's third largest water plant was forced to stop operations after two pipes were broken.
The Dongzhou water plant was expected to resume normal supplies yesterday, Xinhua reported. Zhengzhou's water authority discovered that a construction team broke two 1.2-meter-diameter pipes on Tuesday morning while installing cables for the Metro system.
