Milan Expo 2015 tickets set at US$52 each

MILAN World Expo 2015 tickets will cost 39 euros (US$52) per person, the organizer announced over the weekend in Beijing as it started its China sales campaign in conjunction with China Corporation Joint Pavilion.

World Expo 2015 organizers expect to attract 25 million visitors to the fair, including 1.5 million from China. A total of 147 countries and international organizations have agreed to participate.

“The Milan Expo organizer will shorten the visa application period to a day from the current two days for Chinese visitors,” said Piero Galli, general manager with the Milan Expo organizing committee.

Eminent agricultural scientist Yuan Longping — renowned for developing high-yield rice strains — will be the ambassador for China Corporation Joint Pavilion, one of three from China.

Several state-owned enterprises like Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China and Baosteel have confirmed they will participate in the pavilion, which has the theme "Chinese seeds."

Meanwhile, China Pavilion, shaped in the form of rippling wheat, will cover 4,590 square meters. The core exhibition concepts will be "heaven, earth, humanity and harmony," said Wang Jinzhen, general representative of China Pavilion.

Vanke Pavilion is China’s other pavilion and will be run by the country’s biggest residential property developer.

The Milan Expo will run from May 1 to October 31, 2015.
