Mom kicks daughter to death for pooping in pants

A WOMAN who kicked her 5-year-old daughter to death for defecating in her underpants was given a three-year suspended sentence, according to a court in Luoyang City in central China’s Henan Province.
The 25-year-old mother surnamed Yang was sentenced to three years with a three-year reprieve for causing another’s death accidentally. Yang broke down in court and expressed regret for what she did to the child, Henan Legal Daily reported today.
In June 2012, the girl soiled her underpants, which angered Yang. Yang kicked the child’s belly twice, leaving her critically injured. The girl was sent to a hospital by the parents but died from a ruptured spleen.
Testimony indicated Yang had a happy family with a 7-year-old son and a 5-year-old daughter. She was easily angered but had never abused her children, according to witnesses.
“Usually a mother would never intentionally hurt her child,” said prosecutor Wang Wanzhe.
