Mom stabs sleeping daughter 30 times

A WOMAN went on trial in Beijing yesterday for stabbing her sleeping daughter 30 times in fear that her daughter would kick her out of her house after marriage.
Liu Xixiang, 53, pled guilty of intentional injury at the court hearing on Wednesday. She asked for a lenient sentence, saying she suffered temporary insanity when hacking her 25-year-old daughter Xiao Xue on July 27 last year.
However, Xiao said the court should convict her mother of attempted murder because she suffered a total of 140 centimeters long cut in face, neck, arms and legs.
Besides, after the rampage, Liu locked her in the room and left without an attempt to treat her wounds despite her daughter begging in tears.
Her daughter asked Liu for 240,000 yuan (US$35,383) in compensation. She lost her job in a supermarket and had to live on relatives, reported Beijing Times.
Liu suspected her daughter and boyfriend surnamed Wang tried to steal her house after they told her they decided to marry last July.
