Mom suspected of killing 3 young sons, slashing husband over disputes

A WOMAN is in police custody and suspected of killing her three sons and cutting her husband on the head over family disputes this morning at their home in Jiahe County in central Hunan Province.

Police were called at around 12:18am after reports that a couple was having a big fight and someone was attacked with a knife, authorities said.

At the scene, police found the three boys, aged 1, 2 and 9, dead in pools of blood in the living room.

Their mother, surnamed Lei, was lying in the bedroom with her left wrist bleeding. She was sent to the hospital for emergency treatment.

Police said her husband, who had head wounds, had rushed to the hospital by himself before police came, Xinhua News Agency reported.

Lei admitted the crimes, police said.
