More snow in northeast, rain in south
A COLD front will bring snow to the northeast and rain to most parts of southern China in the next three days, the National Meteorological Center said yesterday.
According to the forecast, Xinjiang, Tibet, Gansu, Qinghai, Sichuan, Shandong, Yunnan and regions along the Yellow and Yangtze rivers will see snow, rain, or a mix of snow and rain from today through Tuesday.
Among these regions, parts of Jiangsu, Anhui, Hunan, Hubei, Jiangxi and Heilongjiang provinces will be hit by snowstorms. Parts of Jiangxi and Guangdong will see heavy rain, the center said.
It also said Anhui, Hubei and parts of Hunan, Jiangsu and Jiangxi provinces will see the first snowfall of this winter or a mix of rain and snow.
Last week, heavy snow hit northern and central provinces, including Hebei, Shanxi, Henan, Shandong, Hubei and Shaanxi, and Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. As of Friday, 40 deaths had been blamed on the inclement weather.
