More to be done on frugality
CHINA’S leaders called for further implementation of its pro-frugality regulations as “some problems that cannot be ignored still exist.”
The Politburo’s meeting yesterday heard reports on the execution of the “eight-point” regulations, which since the end of 2012 had banned extravagance and formalism among Party officials and cadres.
The meeting said the regulations had been implemented with satisfactory results and had brought the Party and the people closer.
However, some problems still existed, the meeting found, as some officials were abiding by the regulations only because they were under pressure.
