'Most wanted abductor' questioned
A WOMAN is being questioned over the abduction and trafficking of 30 women and children, after being apprehended by police in central China's Henan Province.
Wu Zhenglian, 26, a native of Guangnan County, Yunnan Province in the southwest, was listed as one of the 30 most wanted abductors in China in 2009.
After police found her on Monday, she was transferred to Yunnan, said officers.
Wu was held by Yunnan police in 2008 for allegedly selling children. But she was later released on bail because she had just given birth.
While on bail, she fled and got married in the remote Guozhuang Village, Henan's news portal Dahe.cn reported yesterday.
In the village, she went by the name of Xiong Zhongxian and kept a very low profile, the report claimed.
On Sunday, Henan police received a tip-off that Wu was living in a local village.
According to public security authorities, Wu also used the name Wu Jinjiao and organized abductions at least 11 times in 2009.
Wu was the last name on the 30 most wanted abductors list to be apprehended, Chen Shiqu, the director of national anti-abduction and trafficking authority, wrote on his microblog yesterday.
